At the same time Batman discovers that Lexcorp is also tracking Superman's activities. Lois Lane investigates the murders and finds some evidence that points towards Lexcorp. Nearly two years later, Superman is involved in an incident where multiple terrorists are killed off and the media blames him for those deaths, causing Clark Kent to question if being Superman is worth it or not, as Earth has been less than welcoming towards him so far. In response Bruce decides it's time to come out of retirement and become Batman once again, however this time he's more brutal and willing to murder criminals. The movie opens during the destructive battle between Superman and Zod, where Bruce Wayne witnessed the two destroy a Wayne Enterprises building and causing the deaths of many of his employees.
